Collaborating Institutions

Funding:

Aim

1. To understand the local service needs of angina patients and their carers

2. To inform service providers of the needs of patients and their carers

3. To meet government policy on patient choice, involvement and chronic disease management

Method

Focus group discussions will be held with patients, carers and health professionals. It is planned to recruit 3 focus groups per category. These focus groups will be facilitated by the Academic Lead and Consortium researchers.

Results from the focus groups will be used to develop a postal survey instrument which will be sent out to a larger cohort of patients/carers and health care professionals.

Results from the survey will be presented to a "patient jury" for ranking in order of propriety to inform service development.
